Reviewed: 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

4dr SUV 242-horsepower 3.3L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD

Why the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Feature availability

all the bells and whistles on the limited, power seats, comfort, heated seats, XM radio, radio in general, autodim mirror, high off the ground, not bad on gas for an SUV, lots of room to stow and good for trailoring

Price or payments

balloon financing, can get a loaded car for far less than other SUVs with the same features, low financing rates

Reliability & durability

seems to run ok so far! has gotten many great reviews, consumer report best buy for 2008 for a midsize SUV

Driving position & visibility

feels like you are high off the ground, you can change the seat position easily, lots of big windows to see out of

Cargo capacity

lots of space! putting the hitch on tomorrow!

Why Not the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Past personal experience

my first Santa Fe had a faulty tranmission, which had to be replaced, luckily the dealership in brantford replaced the entire vehicle for me and I got a new one! Thanks Brantford Hyundai!

Insurance cost

more expensive to insure than my ford focus, does not sell for much down the road. poor resale value.

Fuel economy

not bad for an SUV, but still expensive to fill its large tank. Goes about 600 km on a tank, at $1.20/L (in Canada) costs $80
