Why the 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Reliability & durability

This car has proven reliable and dependable.

Front seat support & comfort

Very comfortable front seats - deep plush and warm. Fine for long drives. As I get older I've had to use the lumbar support, which works well.

Fuel economy

For a car of this size and weight, fuel economy is decent.

Cargo capacity

Lots and lots and lots of space in this vehicle! Rear seats fold down, making a cavernous area behind the front seats.

Quietness

This vehicle is quite quiet under all conditions.

Why Not the 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Exterior styling

Ugly as sin...

Powertrain performance

Underpowered, even with the 173 HP V6.

Safety & braking

Poor braking, it's a very heavy vehicle to stop. Brake early! Stopping distance and skidding resistance was improved once the awful BFGoodrich factory tires were replaced with Michelins.

Dealer practices

Horrible sales experience but good service where I bought it. Awful service in my new town though, it will never go back to this dealer.

Tires

Original BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A tires were awful. Very very easy to skid even with lots of tread left. Michelin LTS M/S 2 are much, much better.
