I would guess Infiniti would cater to the masses with styling, performance and a little more economy. 2008	4dr SUV 297-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic RWD	I average about 20 miles per gallon on premium fuel - with a mix of street and highway driving. I typically get 16 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. Some of this is attributable to the 5 speed transmission on the car, which favors acceleration to economy. I imagine the 7 speed transmission should help the car get better highway economy. see full Infiniti EX review

Mostly used "comfort" setting which starts out in 2nd gear and shifts early. With this nonaggressive profile, city driving economy is improved.
