Now, the vehicle is showing corrosion on the doors due to the mating of aluminum door panels with steel hinges. Unfortunately again, Stellantis is not addressing the cause, but rather, repairing the ones which are reported. The hinges and doors are painted in one process which leaves the mating surfaces without paint and the corrosion begins almost immediately. The hood is involved also. The frame was developing excessive rust on the inside. I cleaned out the rust and replaced some of the threaded inserts which hold the drivetrain and guards in place. Coated the inside and outside of frame with a rust sealer/converter.
Cab-to-frame mounts (torque boxes) were rusted out...body mounts were pushed through the torque boxes. Would not pass PA State Safety Inspection next year (2019).
