Land Rover LR4 Real Gas Mileage: Pros

2010 4dr SUV 375-horsepower 5.0L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range
Not great compared to a Honda Civic, but thats like comparing an F-18 to a Piper Cub. LR4 is very throttle sensitive. A lighter foot improves mileage considerably. Considering the size & capability of this vehicle, mileage is reasonable. see full Land Rover LR4 review

2012 4dr SUV 375-horsepower 5.0L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range
Horrible, and its not just the price of the pump that is the problem, its the range. City driving gives me 11-12 mpg....but despite the 23g tank specs, after the fuel warning light come, I have rarely filled my tank up more than 19 gallons....Usually after only @230-240 miles.....you will be going back to the pump frequently..,Pure freeway driving, you get up to around 17 mpg on the flats...(dont believe the computer, its always about 1.5mpg too optimistic ). If only they brought in the diesel, or had a bigger useable fuel tank.... see full Land Rover LR4 review

Thus far, I have averaged 23 and 26 mpg, both times have had roughly a 70 mile highway trip out of 200 miles. Overall, I find this to be acceptable. see full Pontiac Grand Prix review
2002 4dr Sedan 200-horsepower 3.8L V6

HORRIBLE. 12-16mpg combined with both city and driving. see full Pontiac Grand Prix review

BEFORE the switch to ethanol-mixed fuel, my supercharged V6 averaged 22mpg, getting 19 city and a staggering 34 highway. If you do long highway miles and want more comfort than any econo-box can offer, this is the car for you! see full Pontiac Grand Prix review

2006 4dr Sedan 303-horsepower 5.3L V8
4-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Great V8 exhaust note and instant acceleration comes at the cost of about 19 mpg in combined driving, versus 25 with my new car. That is a 30% increase. (the new car is 600 pounds lighter though...) see full Pontiac Grand Prix review
2005 4dr Sedan 303-horsepower 5.3L V8

17-19 mpg in the city. 25 If I drive on the intersate. 30 is possible at 60mph. Most of my driving is in the city. The beautiful v8 makes it impossible to stay out of the gas, but it can run on REG fuel. see full Pontiac Grand Prix review
