2009 Mazda Mazda6 Pros and Cons Member3591 Needs another 200 hp and 300 ft/lbs of torque. To be fair first gear is geared really low. Once you run the engine up to 5500 to 6000 rpm then second gear has some grip. The variable valve time really helps during cruise but passing requires down shifting |

2007 Mazda Mazda6 Pros and Cons Member2198 Since the Fusion and the Mazda 6 are essentially the same car, it came down to which was the preferred version. The Mazda has a very nice shifting 5 speed manual available in the V6. |
|
2006 Mazda Mazda6 Pros and Cons Member566 V6 with the 6 speed auto is more than adequate, although manual shifting of the auto is imprecise (not fast enough or direct enough). Transmission shifts smoothly for everyday use. |
