2008 Nissan Pathfinder Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by calpino

Powertrain performance
V8 is a BLAST to drive and at times was frighteningly fast. Tranny was robust and I like the manu-matic mode that it offered.
Feature availability
The truck (SE) offered more than the competition for a few thousand less: large V8, rear view camera, Bose audio, sunroof, dual-zone HVAC, automatic AWD, 3rd row seating, etc. Features that were exclusive to higher trim models of other makers.
Cargo capacity
Never had to tow, but the space and seat configurations came in very handy. The front passenger seat that folded flat was a big plus.
Price or payments
Nissan had a great lease offer for V8 SE models and the payments were less than what the competition was offering.
Fuel economy
The fun of a V8 in a 5k+ lb vehicle had its penalties. Admittedly heavy on the gas, I averaged 13mpg in town and was lucky if I obtained 18mpg on long trips cruising at a steady 75mph. Manual said Premium fuel was recommended but regular worked fine.
Reliability & durability
Far too many issues in the short time I owned the SUV. There were 3 recalls but thankfully for nothing major. With only 31k miles on the clock, I had issues with the TPS system, gas door hatch, rear hatch lock, window motors, rear hatch leak and more.
