60000 mi

US $158
After two mechanics, one Nissan trained, could not pinpoint the problem, I educated myself with the electrical diagram. I fixed it, 99c fuse..for three weeks. Back to the drawing board. Either something in wiring or new computer draws too many amps.
63000 mi

US $1200
Spliced a crimped/bent/broken? factory wire that communicates to the computer. I was between the IPDM box and the firewall and required a very skilled individual with a video scope to discover and repair it. Other wiring over the muffler heat shield had melted, but is still functional. Will take quite a few splices and requires the bed to be taken off the truck to gain access.
65000 mi

US $500
Not completed yet, but this week even if we have to pull the trany. It locked into LOW 4Wh gear. Two shops could not diagnose the issue. I have made progress and believe we can see the problem and release it when replacing the screen and fluids. There should be nothing really wrong with the transmission otherwise. Since this may be the last update, I thought I should warn others of driving in LOW 4wh with too heavy a load on slick mud. At this point I have to install the controller to see if sanding what appeared to be a burnt speed sensor cover will allow the computer to read it properly or will have to replace the TCM and controller. Nothing else was visually affected. It somehow overheated which caused the vehicle to go into LIMP mode.
65000 mi

US $300
Bought used TCM, pulled the controller (second time) and installed. Checked all solenoids (good). Mechanic visually checked transmission. (good) Controller appears good. The symptoms changed when resetting the TCM, but not drastically. Still no reverse, engages forward in neutral. Got rid of a couple of codes and manual shift works. Stays in Limp Mode. May try another TCM and/or controller next.
