2018 Nissan Titan 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed

390-horsepower 5.6L V8 7-speed shiftable automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range

33000 mi Dealer replaced transmission under warranty. When coming to a stop, a ‘bump’ was felt intermittently, like the rear bumper was being kicked. No mention of ‘axle wrap’ by dealer. No ‘bump’ felt on accelerating, as other Titan owners have mentioned with ‘axle wrap’. After new transmission, same issue a few weeks later. Dealer talked with Nissan again and was told this condition is ‘normal’. A new Titan was tested at the dealer with same problem as my truck.

305-horsepower 5.6L V8 5-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range

61000 mi Replace the modulator for rear axle. Water was in the fluid even with only 20 mi since the truck was parked for 1yr and 1/2. The axle seal had been replaced when I purchased the truck with 59,000 miles, therefore the fluid had been replaced.

US $500
Not completed yet, but this week even if we have to pull the trany. It locked into LOW 4Wh gear. Two shops could not diagnose the issue. I have made progress and believe we can see the problem and release it when replacing the screen and fluids. There should be nothing really wrong with the transmission otherwise. Since this may be the last update, I thought I should warn others of driving in LOW 4wh with too heavy a load on slick mud. At this point I have to install the controller to see if sanding what appeared to be a burnt speed sensor cover will allow the computer to read it properly or will have to replace the TCM and controller. Nothing else was visually affected. It somehow overheated which caused the vehicle to go into LIMP mode.
65000 mi

US $300
Bought used TCM, pulled the controller (second time) and installed. Checked all solenoids (good). Mechanic visually checked transmission. (good) Controller appears good. The symptoms changed when resetting the TCM, but not drastically. Still no reverse, engages forward in neutral. Got rid of a couple of codes and manual shift works. Stays in Limp Mode. May try another TCM and/or controller next.
25 mi Nissan replaced front axle on the vehicle, which had sheared off based on faulty installation at factory.
