The handling prowess of the FR-S. Simultaneously the best and worst aspect of the car. Have you found any empty parking lot or an Auto-x course and learned how to turn the TCS all the way off? Smile machine. Just trying to get to work in a behaved manor. Worst car ever. Try to have a little fun with the TCS on, look like an idiot. Try to drive normal with it off, look like an idiot.I believe most people who buy this car are looking to get a little sideways now and then, it will do that when you want, and when you don't. The tires offer very little traction to begin with, combined witha rear-end setup that doesn't step out gradually but rather just lets go. Once the back end gets going you can control it decently with just a little practice. But I have found its threshold for sliding to be unpredictable at best. It can be a handfull in the wet, i don't like my insurance company enough to try snow.
It's not a fast car, it is a quick car. It does however not feel like either it feels slow. Traded a 12' mini cooper s for this, on paper a slower car but felt much faster. When wringing it out you'll wish it had shorter gears, on the highway you'll wish they were taller. The clutch feel is great the shifts are positive, almost gated in feel. ( I drove a manual s-10 forver and fell in love with how sloppy it was, the FR-S is too tight and positive for my tastes.)
