Reviewed: 2009 Toyota Corolla

4dr Sedan 132-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD

Why the 2009 Toyota Corolla?

Exterior styling

It looks really upscale compared to an Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Lancer or a Nissan Sentra. Its chrome accents, 16" alloy wheels, and profile make the Toyota Corolla a small scale Camry.

Fuel economy

Its superb, the highest fuel economy avaible in its category.

Ride smoothness

Again, you feel driving a larger car. Its EPS is so smooth and its engine provides plenty of power.

Brand reputation & image

Maybe Corolla is not a value car, but it would make anyone seen better than any other compact car, only Honda Civic can compete with it.

Reliability & durability

The most reliable car in its category.

Why Not the 2009 Toyota Corolla?

Interior styling

I think they should work it better to appear as upscale as it is from outside.

Driving position & visibility

Not about driving position, but it has poor visibility rearwards and plenty blind points.

Feature availability

They should provide more features like the latest fords.

Price or payments

Its expensive compared to Sentra, Elantra and Lancer, while providing the same or less features. Also mainteinance is expensive but is because the brand, not the car.
