Why the 2002 Toyota Corolla?

Reliability & durability

This was the third Corolla I owned myself and the fourth I drove regularly. I am terrible about regular maintenance but I never had a serious problem. The only repairs necessary were normal wear and tear and even those were much later than expected.

Past personal experience

They are so reliable and really take a beating. They are comfortable, internal temperature adjusts quickly, road noise is reasonable. At 150,000 miles my car was comparable to most others at 90,000.

Brand reputation & image

Toyota is known for their high quality, long lasting and safe cars. Their cars are marketable to everyone from young and hip to soccer moms to sophisticated professionals to older retired folks. I always feel that others like my car. I trust Toyota.

Handling

It was smooth and easy to drive. It had a tight turning radius, accelerated very quickly and felt like a much more expensive car.
