The Corolla is a very good car overall. I am disappointed that I got the chrome trim because the handles are bubbling - pretty cheesey. I am very disappointed with the door closing mechanism. It is very sluggish and will not reliably latch unless you have learned to shove it with purpose. The door mechanism also does not have the usual stop points so you have to be careful when opening next to another car as the door is likely to open to full extention quickly. This is very poor design but must be the Toyota way since it happens on my Rav4 also.

The Corolla handles well except on a windy highway where the sway induced by wind gusts is quite disturbing and can almost be dangerous. Otherwise the handling is good for the level of power (not much)
Good value with reasonable compromise. I decided to buy my Corolla instead of a car more than twice the cost just because I decided I didn't need more for my short commute. I could have gotten more but I'm not disappointed I didn't.
