I have had people 6ft 2 inches in the back and they had head and leg room. The Insight is very tight and I, whom is 5 foot 10 inches tall had my head touching the roof, well the top the rear hatch actually. see full Toyota Prius review

2008 4dr Hatch 76-horsepower 1.5L I4 Hybrid

Excellent for tall, long legged people - even more leg room than a Cadillac, which appears larger. My children love it! Also plenty of head room for tall people. see full Toyota Prius review
2008 4dr Hatch 76-horsepower 1.5L I4 Hybrid

2009 4dr Hatch 76-horsepower 1.5L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
No height adjustment and a bizarre seating angle. see full Toyota Prius review
2008 4dr Hatch 76-horsepower 1.5L I4 Hybrid

Seat needs more lower back support for distance driving. see full Toyota Prius review
2008 4dr Hatch 76-horsepower 1.5L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
If you are much over 5 foot 10 inches tall, the drivers seat might get a little tight. Not much leg support either as the bottom cushion is very short. I hear the 2010 redesign helped with this. Since I use this car for not much more than an hour commute, I tolerate the seat as the rest of the car is so darn good. see full Toyota Prius review

2010 4dr Hatch 98-horsepower 1.8L I4 Hybrid

Peppy response when needed yet very smooth and quite in normal driving. Powertrain reliability. see full Toyota Prius review
2010 4dr Hatch 98-horsepower 1.8L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
Both the Prius and Insight will not win any sports car races, but the Prius has better power at any speed. The Insight feels slightly sportier, but that is not saying much. see full Toyota Prius review
2010 4dr Hatch 98-horsepower 1.8L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
Excellent technology design to achieve fuel efficiency. see full Toyota Prius review
2009 4dr Hatch 76-horsepower 1.5L I4 Hybrid

Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds and no gear changes with the Continuously-Variable Transmission up to 180 km/h is pure bliss. see full Toyota Prius review
2008 4dr Hatch 76-horsepower 1.5L I4 Hybrid

Quick response, ease in handling. Did not drive Honda Civic, but rear seat was deal breaker. see full Toyota Prius review
2008 4dr Hatch 76-horsepower 1.5L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
It has much more acceleration power than the gas only Honda Civic. It really gets up and goes when you step on it. The electric motor has a lot of pull to it. see full Toyota Prius review
2009 Toyota Prius Powertrain: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2010 4dr Hatch 98-horsepower 1.8L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
Lacks power, strange noises, thing you give up for high mpg see full Toyota Prius review
2008 4dr Hatch 76-horsepower 1.5L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
The gas engine sounds raspy when pushed hard, and if your traction battery is low you are stuck with an anemic 1.5 engine. However, on stop and go traffic the Prius is on its best and feels terrific; quiet, smooth and easy on fuel. see full Toyota Prius review
