2000 Toyota Sienna has excellent captain separate seats for the driver and 3 passengers. Even the last row of seats are verry comfortable. My in-law bought another later model Sienna a few years later and the quality of the seat went down. Why seat quality is important? If you have long drives on a regular basis then it definitely improve your quality of life. Con: the 2000 Sienna last row of seats are not foldaway. You have to move it out of the car to make room for bulky cargo.
Engine is still strong and quiet after 15 years of driving.
Maybe I have an XLE model so the suspension is super.
Gas milage is nothing to write home about, but it is what it is for its size and its time.
ABS braking is a big plus. (My previous vehicle did not have it.)
I strongly agree that door components are horrible. Even on doors that are rarely used, they fall apart eventually. I replaced the tailgate door handle with expensive original Toyota dealer part, and it broke again with probably less than 100 times of use. I learned my lesson, and only replaced door handles with after market parts after that.
