Just completed a 7,000 mile trip, 2 adults & lightly, fully loaded bed. Best mileage 24 mpg, lowest 22 mpg. Typical town/freeway mix has been 22-23 mpg. Flat terrain, easy driving.

Even with the V6, the fuel economy hovers around 22MPG with mixed city/highway driving. A lot cheaper to refuel than a full size.

I thought the fuel economy, for a truck, was excellent. It gets 5mpg better than a Honda Ridgeline.

The 4 cyl specifically for a truck is great. According to my computerized Scanguage I am getting a consistent 21-25 mpg per tank with all around driving and commuting. 21 gallong tank.

I get 21mpg in the warm months and only 18mpg in the winter. I use the 4wd a lot when roads are snowy or slippery.
I had hoped for better gas mileage and find it ridiculous that there aren't better truck engines available from any of the manufacturers. A turbo-diesel four-cylinder would be much more practical in the Tacoma.

23 mpg on the highway at 55 mph. This is vs. the 1993 toyata truck which regularly got 30+ mpg.

I expected better fuel economy for a small truck. But none of the trucks get good economy. The manufacturers need to get with the program on truck fuel economy.
