The stereo/CD player unit in the glovebox was popping out on the left side. They fixed that. I don't know if they actually charged me for it, as the car had a lot of maintenance/wear work done, too.
24616 mi Car required boosting to start. Roadside service did a battery check and indicated the battery was dead. VW dealer checked the battery by charging and performing a GFF Low Voltage Faults. Dealer then performed a charging test which was ok, tested battery again and the battery failed test code 333J8V8U-UQWAUVDSA. Battery was replaced with new battery at no charge.

3000 mi warning lights came on regarding airbag function, only a few weeks after delivery--turns out an electrical connector under the driver seat had simply come loose.
505 mi driving vehicle and errors appeared on Dash. Auto headlights fault and windshield wiper fault. Auto headlights defaulted to ON even though it was daylight. Wipers would not work regardless of what I selected on the stalk. This first happened on Saturday June 3rd. After half an hour everything was fine. Sunday june 4th it occurred again. Brought to dealership on Wednesday June 7th. Was there for just over an hour and was told that no faults were found. Only fault they encountered was an old one for low battery and was due to the vehicle having been on the showroom for so long. was told that may have been the cause. Drove home with no issues. upon starting the vehicle in the afternoon the errors came up again. Drove directly to the dealership and left the car running and told service writers. the confirmed the errors were appearing. Took car into shop for almost two hours before putting me in a loaner saying they were going to need more time to diagnose. Vehicle displayed faults on the MFD screen. Auto headlight fault and wiper fault. Wipers were inoperable. Lights in AUTO mode would automatically turn on regardless of what time of day/brightness/sunshine. Problem was resolved. Connector Pin 3 in Light sensor was faulty. Replaced.
1990 mi Radio shut off while driving. Restart did not work. Screen black and no audio. Nav system disabled including compass in the Dashboard as well. Service replaced Module 5F and also updated radio software to version 753. Version 753 also has a known defect. Version 755 is the latest and greatest and supposedly fixes this issue. Problem has not returned as of yet so I haven't gone back to get the software updated.

11000 mi This is a very small repair but I thought that VW owners would be interested - our key battery died at 8 months of ownership. It was replaced under warranty no problem - it just seemed odd that the key battery died so quickly. 43666 mi

US $50
Driver front window button was loose & one-touch control wasn't functioning. Dealer replaced the master switch & master switch trim.
8100 mi Blind spot warning indicators on exterior mirrors stopped working. Was easily resolved with a software flash. Apparently if something blocks the blind spot sensors in the bumper area for a prolong period of time the system shuts down. In my case, the cause was apparently heavy snow. The good news it that it was a minor problem that was easily fixed. Not so good news was that it was a nuisance to have to take time to go the dealer. I have not idea how common this is with VW/Audi product or other vehicles. But given how common snow is in many parts of the world, this shouldn't happen or there should be an easy DIY reset for the BS monitors.
14100 mi Battery died as I left it on too long while cleaning it. Jump started it and BU cam, radio, and a few other electrical items didn't work. Took to dealer, they set it back to original settings and that did the trick

Vehicle had failed to crank. Battery voltage was low. Charged battery and drove to dealer, who checked the charging circuit and battery, pronouncing them OK. Dealer service, while inexpensive, was not thorough.

The heater fan wasn't working. I brought the car into my favorite mechanic. It took them several hours to disassemble console etc to get close to the fan motor. The mechanic said that, as it was an R, the fan motor and/or head unit could be malfunctioning. As it was an R, the shop service manual was ambiguous on what actual parts were used. He estimated $2000 to get to the motor and head unit and potentially another $2000 to repair. I passed.

25000 mi Premature battery failure at 18 months/24,534 miles. Battery would not take a charge, and could not start vehicle.
30071 mi HD Radio stations occasionally do not tune at radio power up. Changing stations restores audio. Dealer updated head unit software from 0241 to 0247 version. Backup camera flickers when first activated when hot. Intensifies with vibration (including engine exhaust sound). Dealer attempted fix via software update under warranty, however I suspect a loose video connection. Driver's power window occasionally forgets auto up/down limits, requiring a reset. Dealer tested unit, and could not reproduce, declaring no fault found.

Dealer cited the possibility of a faulty battery, and replaced it again Key fob battery failed for 3rd time in as many weeks. Dealer spent a day examining fob and car but could not find cause. Battery replaced again even though I insisted that the battery is not the root cause, as it is unlikely that multiple batteries would be faulty.
