Moonroof sunshade will not close. Pinch control makes it return to open at about 12". This has been an issue since the day I purchased the vehicle and is still not fixed. Service tech removed moonroof to fix the sunshade problem and broke the trim on the moonroof. This lead to the moonroof itself activating pinch control in the dark on a night when we got 3" of rain, all of which went into the vehicle. Driver side A pillar trim was falling off. Driver side rear panel clip broke just behind wheel.
Sunroof leaked into cargo area, soaking carpet and pooling in spare tire compartment. Dealer quoted $2300 for repair to sunroof frame. Chose to seal the sunroof closed with $7 of flex seal instead, which stopped the leak completely. Sunroof no longer opens
The handle for the parking brake broke off from the connection. The handle is attached asymmetrically to the connector, and as such, would eventually break. A new handle and connection to the cable was required, and was installed by the dealer. _Extremely_ poor design by VW for this part !
