5-speed automated manual RWD		 good mpg car for the price and simplicity of a lightweight car with only a gas engine. Even if you only get the EPA combined estimate of 36 it is good mpg and competes well in its class. But many smart drivers get much higher. My first 10k miles averaged 45 mpg, based on miles per gallon measured at each fill up, mix of city and freeway. Recently I had 48 mpg and 51 mpg tanks on my usual route. 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD		 I'd love to have better mileage; but, I also want cargo capacity and comfort. That's the tradeoff. The newer Traverse has a 9-speed transmission that no doubt helps it get a few more miles per gallon but it also has auto stop/start (which I'm not fond of). Mileage on the trip to and from New Jersey was right at 24 MPG--when I remember my last Chevy (IROC-Z28 with L-98 engine) I realize that was the same mileage I got from a car that had little utility. see full Chevrolet Traverse review

6-speed shiftable automatic AWD		 Fuel economy literally sucks!! I guess it's the price you pay for driving a big vehicle with all-wheel drive. I also own a new GMC 4x4 quad cab truck with a 6 liter engine. My truck gets better fuel economy than my 3.6 liter Traverse. Maybe I just got stuck with a lemon. I'm told that fuel economy is supposed to get better once the engine gets more km's on it.
