15000 mi Switch in tranny was giving error message. Tranny was pulled and switch replaced under warranty. It would have run $900

Manual Transmission Clutch actuation. It would occasionally fail to release when the pedal was fully pressed. In one instance the pedal failed to return from the floor, requiring manual return. Dealer inspected hydraulic system and clutch and found no issues. Brake fluid was replaced and all brakes and clutch slave cylinder bled. This system was covered by VW extended warranty.

Loud knocking/banging noise from rear of car under hard acceleration. Diagnosed by dealer as Haldex AWD unit failure. Complete Haldex Coupling assembly (incl. Haldex Control Module) replaced. 4 months out of 5-year warranty but a known issue, VW eventually agreed to pay half of the parts cost.

30274 mi Haldex AWD unit stopped functioning. The condition existed for 2-3 weeks in that rear wheels were not engaging in low-traction situations. Fault code was triggered after a launch control start spun the front wheels. Dealer replaced unit (OCQ525010F) with revised part (0CQ525010H), along with associated non-reusable bolts and fluids. Time in shop was waiting for the differental part to arrive from Canada. 
1200 mi DSG transmission failure. Dealer had whole new DSG transmission shipped from Germany and installed.
