2004 Acura TSX Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: A happy Acura TSX owner by Pryso

Introduction

I'm old enough to be retired and, as an auto enthusiast, I've owned numerous sports cars. I'm so pleased overall with my TSX that I'm still not considering trading up after eight years. (Although I wouldn't mind finding a low mileage Honda S-2000 for a second car.)

Why the 2004 Acura TSX?

Handling

I bought my TSX new in 2004. I test drove at least six competing models, including the Acura TL. The closest competitor was a 3-series BMW but I liked the TSX better.

Powertrain performance

Having owned several sports cars, I didn't expect a 4-door sedan to equal them. This 4-cylinder will not threaten whiplash but it is certainly adequate for spirited daily driving. Also this is only my second automatic after 18 cars and I like the manual shift control.

Front seat support & comfort

I'm 6' 1" but I don't like big cars. The TSX offers adequate room and seat position for even extended trips. I've taken a few with driving 10 hours/day and cannot say I've ever had anything more comfortable. The rear seat may be cramped with my front seat position but it is seldom needed.

Exterior styling

I owned my TSX eight years last August and I still consider it to be a handsome design. In fact I find it cleaner than the newer TSX and other Acura models.

Reliability & durability

This is my first Honda brand product but I expected good reliability, based on friends who owned them and general reputation. I've not been disappointed in any way.

Why Not the 2004 Acura TSX?

Color choices

Too many cars in this area are either black, silver, metallic gray, or white. I feel my metallic gray is attractive but might enjoy something more distinctive. (Wow, that is my biggest complaint!)
