Pulley and bolt replaced under extended warranty only $50 deductible on this problem. Rubberized coating of inside door grab was peeling off. Dealer agreed to pay half of material and installation of a new door panel @ $225 with me paying $225. Also offered to dye the rubber for $80. I chose not to rplc door panel but dye.

Oct 2009 74000 0 steering wheel lock warning came on unexpectedly. Tech said it was software, and reflashed. However, within a few days the bogus warning was back again. Oil change is due soon and I'll have them look at it again. 
Sep 2010 95000 100 Front L and R door lock actuators failed (proximate cause was blown fuse because of sticking and general malfunctioning. Replaced actuators and fuse. 
Oct 2012 119000 3200 Check engine warning. Four oxygen sensors replaced. Did some routine maintenance at the same time.

Jun 2009 29000 0 Something to do with the air silencer was replaced. Didn't know it had a problem. Repair mentioned something about an "SIS" but not sure what they were talking about. Tire pressure monitor was lying and saying I had a low/flat tire when I did not. They just reset or reflashed something to fix it. Cup holder is of a very poor design (cheap, flimsy, comes out of dash right where people's knees are when sitting in front passenger seat) and after a light accidental strike by my friend's knee, the cup holder would no longer go inside dash. Replaced. 
Sep 2009 32000 0 Car told me I had a low tire when I definitely didn't. This is especially annoying with RFTs because you can't visually tell. I was on edge during my road trip hoping at no point I'd actually gotten a flat. Simply reset, no fix. This is a repeat issue.

Jan 2011 52000 0 Replace high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) under HPFP recall. Was experiencing HPFP failure symptoms (long crank, rough idle when cold, check engine light after cold start). These have now gone and car runs better even when warm. 
Nov 2012 69700 500 Water pump failed. Symptom was the engine fan running on full followed by an engine overheat warning. Replaced the pump and thermostat with oem BMW parts. Also drained and replaced all the coolant.

May 2007 8000 0 replaced passenger-side dash cupholder, which was broken when a passenger's knee bumped it. These cupholders are the typical afterthoughts offered by German carmakers, who don't think people should be drinking or eating in their cars (I happen to agree) 
Mar 2008 17000 0 There was a leak in the vacuum check valve, which caused the brake pedal to be very stiff upon start-up when the car had been sitting overnight. This is a known problem to BMW and on a technical service bulletin. 
Aug 2008 21000 0 Problem of stiff brake pedal upon start-up reoccured about four months after a vacuum check valve was replaced. More than 8 days in the shop -- and a visit by a BMW field engineer -- led them to diaganose a leaking vacuum pump. Pump still on order.

Dealer replaced both front door actuators and put in new 20A fuse. Light bulb warning popped up on dash. Read out code: CC-ID 132. Dealer checked for shorts and replaced bulb assembly. No actual defects observed by owner. Water pump was failing and was replaced under extended warranty free of charge. This also caused a check engine soon light to go on.  Mechanic also noticed an oil leak under vehicle, and a repair was made to fix it.

None were found. Right rear window would not close when fully opened unless the window switch was rapidly used or after waiting for 30-60 seconds. Mechanical binding in the window regulator caused the motor to activate the anti-trap feature. Regulator replaced.

They have lubricated the door seals, placed felt in areas of the center armrest console and wiped down the glass windows. Lessened but still there. The brakes also making a screeching noise when braking, BMW tells me that I need to really DRIVE the car. My warranty covers the brakes so I am fine with it I guess.
