Powertrain performance
X3 with 2.0 turbo has good power and comfort and so far decent reliability. This is my wifes (dream) car but I get to drive it on the weekend. Favorite features: power lift gate, sound system, NAV, balance of sport/comfort ride qulaity, 8 speed auto.
Overall great ride quality and utility. Get around 23mpg all around. Only issue is X3 is a bit overpriced. We leased after a lot of negotiation. Got loyalty money from bmw etc.
Will be checking out other SUV offerings at the end of the lease to see what we want to do. I think that CX5, RAV4, Forester have all come a long way esp the Forester 2.0 turbo.
Price or payments
Expensive the bmw packages add up but its not a luxo SUV if you don't get most of them.
Leasing was our only option.
X3 is sporty SUV with excellent ride quality. Engineering is class leading 8 speed auto, 250hp, 9 inch NAV display etc.
It may not make the best $$ decision. At the time there was no other 2.0 turbo on the market. Now there is Ford, Subaru so may want to drive those before throwing the big bucks on the X3
Love the bmw 4yr 50k mile warranty but of course it is built into the price
