2014 Ford C-MAX 4dr Hatch

US $85
Humming/Grinding from rear of car. Dealer tested and found one wheel hub with excessive play and other humming. Replaced both rear wheel hubs under extended warranty.
125000 mi

US $220
Car was riding very rough and uncomfortable so I replaced Rear Shocks (FCS 346041) and front struts (FCS 337019L / FCS 337019R). Took for f*cking ever to remove the strut from the steering knuckle on the right and the process, moved the right CV shaft out of allowed sway to create a noise when reassembled. Ended up having to replace that as well, vs going through all the hassle of rebuilding it.

Both rear shock absorbers were failing to provide sufficient damping force and caused cupping of the rear tires; replaced both with KYB shocks. Also put on adjustable upper control arms to reduce the factory -2.4 degree camber which was causing accelerated inner tire wear.
148000 mi During routine maintenance, dealer reported "Axle seal starting to leak" and quoted $405, 2.5 hour labor + $43 parts. I authorized the axle seal replacement and declined other recommended repairs and services. Final invoice was $559 after adjustment for accidental overcharges. During routine maintenance visit, dealer reports "Sway bar links about to pop out of socket, has play" and quoted $535, 1.5 hours labor, $155 parts to repair. I declined service at this time. Upon my own inspection, I do not detect any play.
