Good MPG. Some Interior Complaints. 2013 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member6023 Even with a heavy duty grill guard installed, fuel economy averages about 18-19. With a tailwind I've seen 22-23 on the highway. |
My Bumblebee 2004 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member5075 Yep, the fuel economy sucks, but it's a truck! I average less than 18MPG each tank with no load behind it, and 10-12MPG with my trailer attached. |
2006 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member5874 Surprisingly good mileage for a full sized 4x4 truck. I routinely get 15-16 average, and as good as 20+ mpg on extended highway at about 60 mph. |

Mediocre visibility; Too much truck! 2012 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member5434 Really excellent, considering. Over 18 mpg city hand measured over multiple tanks IF its broken in and uses high test no ethanol. |
2000 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member5507 V8 and 4 wheel drive. What can you say...just not made for economy driving. |
Candy Apple Red 2010 F150 XLT 4x2 2010 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member5207 So far, with a light foot and the majority of the miles are on the freeway, my fuel economy is over 19 mpg. Not bad for a big super cab truck with a V8, camper shell, and carpet kit. On long trips I have hit 21.5 mpg. Mostly it's around... |
2010 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member5549 I know this isnt anything impressive compared to some vehicles these days, but I am overall impressed with the fuel economy Im getting from the 5.4L V8. I usually average about 17.5 MPG, not bad at all for a big V8. I personally expected much worse MPG. |
2011 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member4337 I drive like an old lady and (typical of all posted fuel economy) I cant get the advertised mpg. |
2004 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member3940 13 MPG overall and and around 18 on the interstate on a good day. |

2003 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member5301 The supercharged 5.4L V-8 REQUIRES 91 octane premium gas, which it drinks at a rate of 1 gallon every 14.9 miles (14.0 or less for the first 40,000 or so miles). |
2011 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member1224 Economically moving a nearly 6000 pound vehicle with 4 wheel drive and 3:73 gears is quite a job for any engine. Even with the aerodynamics of a brick, this little V6 manages anywhere from 16-20 mpg on regular gas. |
2004 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member4975 Not too bad, but wish it was better than 17 mpg |
2010 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member1182 Averaging 18-19 in mixed driving and not broken in |

2003 Ford F-150 Pros and Cons Member2870 17mpg on average is a little low for a 4.6L. Ford should have focused more on fuel economy. |
