Some wiring got burnt and that destroyed the alternator. Got a new alternator and wiring fixed. The cabin fan resistor was dead causing the fan to operate only at full speed (4) setting. Got a new one off ebay for $15 shipped. Easy 5 minute fix.
Battery died - it was working fine a day earlier. I didnt leeave anything on.
The air conditioning system also needed repair and the total cost of all required repairs was approximately $3,000. I enjoyed that car for many years but it finally reached the point where it was time to move on.
Air conditioner was not blowing cold air. Had to replace condenser and heating cord.
Power locks not working when sold. Thermal fuse blown when sold. Not with regular fuses. Accessible by unsrewing the glovebox. Blower motor resistors in 2000 Focus get hot and this blows the thermal fuse.
