2009 GMC Sierra 1500 Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by jjfech

Powertrain performance
Mine has the 5.3 6 speed which I think has great flexibility--plenty of power for towing and gets decent mileage especially if I keep it below 75
Interior styling
I test drove Ford and Dodge before deciding on GM--I think it has the best quality interior (I see many do not shar emy opinion)
Controls and instruments
Much better than my previous generation GM truck. Mine does not have duel climate, and at first I was disappointed, until I drove one that did. I prefer the standard climate control, as it's much easier and quicker to use. I don't have to take my eyes off the road with the standard controls
Dealer practices
The dealership I purchased from tried every trick in the book to get me to pay more money. They defaulted to thinking the customer is uneducated and plain dumb. I think they should revise their selling practices, as customers these days can find quite a bit of info easily when researching a vehicle purchase. I had a camshaft failure at 40k miles, and I tried a different dealersahip due to my poor experience with the first one. Same thing--I was treated like an unvalued customer, and I had a few important questions about the work performed that they frankly blew off.
