Why the 2008 Hyundai Elantra?

Feature availability

Many things come standard with the SE model - vehicle stability control, satellite radio, 6 airbags, cruise control (I could go on and on). Compared with other cars in its class, it has the most standard features for the best price.

Interior styling

Sportier and more visually pleasing than comparable cars. Smooth design and two-color molding blend together nicely. Blue backlighting for the controls makes this car unique.

Color choices

When I made this purchase, I was originally planning to buy a 2009 Toyota Corolla. However, Toyota discontinued their navy blue color for 2009. The fact that the Elantra was available in blue sealed the deal for me personally.

Controls and instruments

Steering wheel-mounted audio controls and cruise control standard on the SE model. Climate controls are well-placed and easy to use.

Discounts & incentives

When I purchased this car, I received $2000 cash back during their "Dollars and Sense" promotion. But even without the factory incentive, the Elantra is simply more car for less cash when compared to similar vehicles.

Why Not the 2008 Hyundai Elantra?

Dealer practices

The dealerships we visited seemed overly proud that the Elantra was named by Consumer Reports as their 2008 Top Pick. Salesmen were arrogant as a result. I do not plan to return to a Hyundai dealership for vehicle service.
