Power steering stopped working one cold morning. Shut engine off and started again, and steering worked fine. No other issues since, but brought into the shop anyway. They found code C2412. Remove and replace EPS column.
Found the factory rear upper control arm bends/flexes when the suspension moves, which causes camber to go out of specification. Upper arm is not designed properly, this it is unsafe to drive the car. Replaced both upper control arms on rear suspension wi
Steering column clunk. Dealer found the noise on all other Elantras. Noise is normal.
Right rear wheel bearing howling like a banshee. back to serenity now that its been replaced.
Front right wheel bearing
tie rod on drivers side.
High pressure and return power steering lines were replaced.
drivers front wheel bearing was nearly ceased
I had a right front wheel bearing replaced.
the steering linkage arm snapped causing the tire to nearly fall off. car was inoperatble. many steering components and engine mounts had to be replaced as a result of this. some of the repair was recall (about $1100, my share was $500)
Sway bar bushing made clunking sound. Replaced sway bar with upgraded part from a Tiburon (18mm sway bar). Replaced bushings. Clunking sound gone. Handling greatly improved with larger sway bar.
