2006 Mazda Mazda5 Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by gwy8

Handling
Tracks well in twists and turns. Feels stable and tight in turns.
Exterior styling
Sleek, modern, sporty stying helps counter the underlying fact this is actually a small minivan.
Driving position & visibility
Seat adjusts up/down, steering wheels tilts and telescopes so getting into a comfortable driving position is easy. Lots of windows all around. Pillars are not too big as to be in the way except perhaps the rear C pillars.
Price or payments
Competitive pricing compared to the similarly sized KIA and perhaps the Matrix/Vibe.
Rear seat room & comfort
Flexible layout. Individual captains chairs in the middle row provides ample space. 3rd row is best left for kids under pre teens, but a short trip would be ok for adults. 2nd and 3rd rows seats can be folded down flat individually.
Fuel economy
My 4 speed automatic yields about 10.5 L/100 km on 50/50 highway and city driving with a conscious effort to stick to the speed limit and driving as if I had an egg under my right foot. Eh, I thought it would AT LEAST be under 10.
Ride smoothness
Love the look of the 17 inchers but the low profile tires that came with it could use a bit more sidewall to cushion things. Not terrible but could be a tad better. The 16s I have for the winter seems to solve things...of course the snows are louder.
