2006 Mazda Mazda5 Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by randall.halcomb

Handling
Handles like a compact, not a van.
Safety & braking
Side curtain airbags for front and rear passengers in this price range are tough to find. Plus, designed on the same platform shared with the Volvo S40/V50
Rear seat room & comfort
Tons of rear seat room, and the second row seats can slide back/forth and recline. Third row is reserved for small children, however.
Brand reputation & image
Mazda makes fun to drive cars. the Mazda5 is no exception.
Powertrain performance
The 158hp 4-cylinder is adequate, the 4-speed transmission helps make it less so. Also, the response seems rather abrupt for its class. And this response could be to blame for an engine mount failing prematurely.
