2000 0 A clicking noise was heard in the back speakers when the radio/cd player was on and the brake pedal was applied. This happened only to Milans with the audiophile stereo system. I found a TSB to cover the repair. A wire needed a better ground.

1000 0 There was rattle caused by a metallic item in a pillar. I was told the item was not an essential part and should not have been placed there. I assume this oversight occurred during the manufacturing process.
2000 0 An anchor for the driver's seatbelt retractor was loose, so there was a rattle/creak from the pillar.
2000 32 The rattle that was repaired in August 2007 returned. I also had the oil changed.
5000 0 The cup holder in the center console was rattling loudly. The dealer replaced the existing unit. The rattling has been resolved.
7000 0 There was chattering in the pillar on the driver's side. The problem was corrected, but returned about 3 weeks later. The repair was partially successful.
8000 0 The pillar on the driver's side and the center cup holder continue to rattle on rough roads and grade changes. Was told by dealer service reps "that's the way it is" with Mercury Milans, and nothing was done to repair.
10000 0 The cup holder rattled a lot. The last time I visited the dealer, I was told "all Milans have that problem" -- and the unit wasn't replaced. This time, it was replaced.
22000 330 "Check Engine" light would not disappear. Dealer replaced solenoid valve that controls venting.
23000 0 The "Check Engine" light returned after repair in January 2011. Dealer verified the problem and replaced the fuel cap with a new one. Done at no cost to me.
24000 500 Description: Moderately loud noise when braking. Took car in for repair. Left front linkage of brake & suspension was worn down and needed to be replaced. Work was completed on 2nd day.
31000 700 Brakes had been squealing loudly for many months. The auto repair shop replaced the brake system.

29000 0 Driver's door handle (inside of car) stuck in the "out" position - the position you pull it to in order to open the door. Would not lock electrically unless you pushed the handle in to its normal position. Trip 2 was follow-up to Trip 1. Part ordered as result of Trip 1; part installed on Trip 2.
71000 0 Both rear interior door handles broke, can't open from inside. SHOULD BE RECALL ITEM, due to widespread problem. $350 for repairs. Leaving unrepaired, as nobody rides in back. SHAME ON FORD. Radio/CD player reports "CD Error." Won't play CDs, cannot eject disks. $400 for repair - is Ford kidding? Can't even get my disks out, so add about $90 to the loss.
86000 158 Ck Eng lite returned code 0128, so took to independent repair shop. They narrowed the problem down to the thermostat, and replaced it. Had to bleed air out of the system twice. All seems okay now. No Pending code.

23000 0 Engine failure to keep running after start. Air conditioning delay to start blowing cold air on hot day. Lumbar control(drivers side)broken. Interior door handles peeling.
41000 0 Thermostat is malfunctioning. Engine at times runs too cold (as low as 170 degrees). Check engine light comes on. This is a defect at only 41000 miles. I am surprised at no call back because this raises emissions.
50000 130 Engine running to cold (170-184).New thermostat had a design change.Old one was a very poor design. This should not have happened and the cost of the new thermostat and housing was way to high.
61500 95 The Ford Dealer replaced the Air Diverter Valve under the California Emissions PZEV Law. 15 Year 150,000 Mile Warranty. (It was to be no charge for this).
96000 120 Replaced window right front window reg.
97000 100 I had to replace the drivers door lock as the door would no longer stay closed. The latch spring broke.
