| Nissan Versa Fuel Economy: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2012 | 4dr Sedan 109-horsepower 1.6L I4 CVT FWD |
Better than EPA estimates. Averaging 38 mpg combined - 42 mpg + on hwy. |
| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
Averaging 30-31 miles per gallon, mostly highway miles, lowest average was 29.12 mpg. At around 2.50 a gallon, it takes me less than $30 to fill up. Range gives for about 360 or so miles. |
| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
Great mileage for this car. I am consistently getting 34+ mpg on 80% highway driving. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
34 mpg on long (3200 mile) road trip |
| 2009 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
just got 44 miles per gallon on a trip with cruise control set at 65mph. I could not believe it.. This was all on flat terrain. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
While not as high as advertised, it does have decent economy for a car with such great volume and body profile. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
For a car this size its economy is really pretty good. I average 30mpg in mixed driving. On the freeway it will get 35mpg. Not too bad for a car I actually fit in. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
Very Economical to drive |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
Fuel economy is well above average for this size car. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
Nearly 30mpg around town, 34+ on the highway. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
Fair gas mileage. Nothing outstanding, but way better than an SUV. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
I am getting on average 30MPG |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
Good fuel econ considering the size of the car. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
I average 10 to 15 stops per day since I am in outside sales and I still get between 31 and 34 which is WAY over the sticker suggestion. I have YET to get under 30 on any tank and I now have 8700 miles on it. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
While the Versa does not have the greatest fuel economy, it was significantly better than any of the Subarus I wanted, and the fuel economy is comparable to other compact hatchbacks. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
Good gas mileage, especially for the good amount of room in the front and back seats. Also, lots of cars with good mileage have poor safety ratings due to their lack of mass. The Versa has the best safety rating of the small cars, and sits up higher. |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
i loved that when i did my 1000KM Brisbane to Sydney trip i only had to fill up 1 and a half times |
| 2008 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
The car gets around 30mpg with the 6speed even if driven hard and/or faster than 60mph. |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
Not having owned a small car before the economy is hard to compare to other small cars but compared to what we are used to we are very pleased. It goes a long way on a full tank, especially on a trip, and is great in-city as well. |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
Working with the CVT and not accelerating or braking excessively hard, I still pass more than I get passed and still manage to average over 32 mpg year around. |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
I bought it for the fuel economy but it had not lived up to the advertisements. |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
In the city & highway, it gets great mileage. |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD |
Overall very good, one can pretty much time their next fuel stop if putt-putting around town. |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
Currently getting about 30 MPG mixed |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
for the price/performance/cargo capacity and interior room it was on par with everything else in the class despite feeling much more solidly built |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
Excellent highway mileage, 35 MPG to 40 MPG at steady speed below 70 MPH on long trips on flat freeways with Max AC On. Highway MPG drop below 35 MPG at higher cruise speed above 70 MPH. Stop & Go driving, city mileage vary, 18 MPG to 22 MPG average. |

comparable fuel economy to other small sedans of that year |

The Versa has consistently maintained 30+ mpg, considering that the most of our driving is in stop and go traffic I would say that is very good. In instances where we take longer trips with less stops we usually get 34 mpg or better. |

Its decent, but not near what a car that size should be getting. |

Not as good as sticker read, 33 HWY is very hard to come by unless you drive every where 50 mph. |

Anecdotally I have heard that the Versa gets significantly worse mileage than it is supposed to get (which is worse than the Fit to start with), whereas I get better mileage with my Fit than it is rated for. |

The EPA revised the fuel economy downward soon after I purchased the car, my fuel economy is very unimpressive despite careful, moderate driving habits. |

less than Fit |

poor economy for sacrifice of space, did not get promised fuel economy by 25% |

In a recent all highway drive over 200 miles each way I was lucky to 33 MPG (using imperial gallons) at 120 kilometres/hour. |
