2008 Saturn ASTRA Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by *tjwheele

Materials & workmanship
Interior has soft-surfaces and may little details that I continue to notice day-by-day. You do tend to rev this engine - but it is very smooth. It reminds me of revs on my motorcycle - not like most Japanese 4-cylinder engines.
Fuel economy
At interstate speeds I still got over 31 MPG. At 70 mph the engine pulls about 3400 RPM.
Handling
Hugs the road - very low body-roll. I test drove the Astra and then the Focus - no comparision! Feels very sporty and braking is solid as well.
Color choices
In Louisiana, black and dark grey interior colors get pretty warm - especially in August.
Cargo capacity
You will not be towing with this vehicle. This is why I kept my 12-yr old Toyota T100.
Dealer practices
The local Saturn folks are great, but they are connected with the local Chevrolet dealership - especially for service. The Chevy dealership does not have the best reputation for service. I dred the thought of darkening their door.
