Exterior styling

Probably the "best" looking of the Legacy styles. There seems to be some crossover between Audi owners and Subaru owners as this has the most European look of Subaru's library of designs.

Insurance cost

Insurance rates, at least for me, are quite low for the Legacy GT, almost as if they don't make a distinction between the NA and turbo model. (don't tell them!)

Cargo capacity

The Legacy wagon has swallowed an 8 foot dining room table, as well as a couch and small refrigerator. There are some limitations (keep in mind the 29" gate height as it's frequently the limiting factor) but overall it's an amazing cargo hauler given its size. Lower ride height means easier loading, too.

Safety & braking

Braking system is progressive and doesn't have tremendous initial bite, but that's OK. The brakes are powerful enough for the car's weight under most situations, and can be upgraded at low cost relatively easily.

Handling

Handling is great, most of the time. Sometimes it's a little "floaty" on the highway and there's noticeable body roll when cornering at the limit. You feel bumps, so it's not a super-cushy road trip kind of car. It's more of an everyday commuter that you can flog through turns for fun when you want to.

Interior styling

Overall, interior quality is good (for Subaru). Minor niggle that I still hate: no cup holders in the door sills. It's trivial, but I'd really use them if they were there.

Quietness

There are rattles and squeaks. You will drive yourself crazy trying to eliminate them, so just deal with it and enjoy driving the car. However, compared to the Impreza the interior is still quieter at speed. Just don't expect the quiet of a Mercedes C300; it's still a Subaru.

Rear seat room & comfort

Passengers have complained that their legs get a little pinched in the rear seat. I tell them to stop being so tall.
