Reviewed: 2007 Toyota Camry

4dr Sedan 187-horsepower 2.4L I4 Hybrid CVT FWD

Why the 2007 Toyota Camry?

Exterior styling

Not as boring as previous years. Almost daring, for a Camry. Sportier front and rear and the rear especially, flows together better than in past model years.

Safety & braking

Airbags in seats, ceiling, dashboard, steering wheel, and even one for the knees. Has ABS and stability control, which, unfortunately is not possible to shut off, especially if you get stuck in snow.

Brand reputation & image

Toyota has a reputation for reliability and quality. Although there are a few squeaks and rattles in the car I feel that this car could last the next fifteen years and come out better than many of its competitors.

Dealer practices

Excellent service at the dealership at which I got this car. No pressure, outstanding customer service, no nonsense price negotiations, and really went out of their way to make my experience such that I would go out of my way to shop there again.

Why Not the 2007 Toyota Camry?

Interior styling

Cheap leather. Is that even leather? Feels like hard vinyl from a circa-1990 GMC cargo van-sans the patterns. And who in this world omits black as a choice of leather colours? Wow.

Audio & nav systems

Bland, bland, bland. Although easy to use, the feel, quality, and design of the buttons, controls, displays, and some materials makes me wonder if there is a car driving around in a third world country with parts that should have been in my car.
