I have owned a used Volvo 544, and a used VW Rabbit, both of which were disasters, and then bought, new, a Corolla which I gave away after 19 years when I bought the Camry. (It is still running.) That told me the reputation was welll-grounded.

On the highway, it is remarkable for a big, heavy car: 7 or 7.5 litres per 100 km. In the city, ugh - averages around 11; can go up to 12.
I have arthritis and it is great to have a seat that i can lower and slide way back. Not just great - it was important in the purchase decision. .
