Why the 2012 Toyota Camry?

Fuel economy

There is a bug in this SW, it removed ALL my "like" comments!! Will redo best can remember for my XLE 4 cyl w/leather/conv pkg/entune. Measured actual mpg 33 in mixed hwy/city driving first tank 210 miles. Got 40mpg best case 70mph 40 mi no wind

Front seat support & comfort

We will use this as a "road car" on longer trips so front seat comfort along with interior -and- trunk room is very good, better than Kia Optima considered. Two large adults comment rear seat also very comfortable. Front seat easier exit too.

Warranty, maintenance cost

To me this Total Cost of Ownership & sched maint in 10 yrs gave the Camry a solid yes vs close runner up Subaru Legacy (has poor tires vs Mich Primacy, lots of oil, plug, differential lubes), VW Passat diesel adblue & expensive VW only oil chgs.

Insurance cost

This new Camry XLE insurance costs less than our 8 year old Chrysler 300 did and is less than competitive vehicles. Depreciation less of a concern for car I plan to "drive into the ground".

Brand reputation & image

Toyota consistently in top 5 JD Powers brands. Friends owning Toyota vehicles have had stellar performance. Important for a road car we plan to drive 10 yrs + more around town. I have had good pas luck w/Chrysler but 2012 cars like 200 not fit my needs.

Why Not the 2012 Toyota Camry?

Audio & nav systems

The grey XLE in stock my wife liked came w/Nav/Entune. Nav easy to use, but Entune TBD. Both my Samsung Stratosphere & son's Nexus work OK w/Entune, Toyota sites says they won't. All searches put adrs into Nav, nice feature!

Feature availability

The side mirrors are small, need BSM option or a small convex mirror installed. Auto lights don't come on w/wipers (but DRLs always on). Carpet real thin for a deluxe XLE, no floor mats in pkg (but competitors don't supply them either).
