Introduction

This car was on sale and we liked the deal. Would never have got it at full price.

Why the 2012 Toyota Camry?

Fuel economy

The car is returning 46 mpg in town and 40 on hi-way trips. High Speed (65-70 mph)trips return 36 mpg. And that is with air conditioning.

Driving position & visibility

All seating positions are very comfortable. Drivers visibility is hampered by the width of the A and B pillars.

Audio & nav systems

The dash volume and select controls are small, poorly spaced and set high on top of the Nav. unit. Not a great design. The surround sound is too boomy and not worth the money.

Powertrain performance

This car is quick!

Why Not the 2012 Toyota Camry?

Controls and instruments

The fuel economy gauge keeps you guessing about what the car is doing. I wish it had some numbers to show energy created, recovered, and consumed to move the car.

Audio & nav systems

With a smart phone, XM radio is just not needed.

Conclusion

I have to wonder if the next hybrid will have a heat pump for cabin heat and super capacitors to aid acceleration allowing a smaller direct gas inject ICE.
