I have owned this car 16 months, buying it in March, 20017, with about 84 000 km on it. It is a 4-door sedan with the 1.8L/4-speed Auto drivetrain. So far it has been extremely satisfactory.

The Corolla just feels right to drive: sufficient power for me, acceptable fuel economy (7.7 L/100km), lots of room, quiet, dependably good handling, and of course Toyota mechanical reliability. In fact, the mechanical reliability of Toyota vehicles in general was my main reason for buying this one.
My onlyt disappoints are fuel economy less than my commuter Toyota Echo (to be expected) and less peppiness from the engine than I was hoping for.
Conclusion
All in all, I think the 2009 Corolla is an excellent means of transportation: efficient on fuel and on maintenance, comfortable to ride in, and dependable beyond expectations. If you like power or flash, look elsewhere. If you like having minimum concerns with your vehicle, this is the one.
