Although a sedan, it drives like a sports car (not an AC Cobra) with top notch handling and plenty of power. Even with my foot in it I get 27 MPG overall and mostly 30 MPG. Comfortable and lots of trunk room while having Toyota reliability.
For a five passenger sedan the milage is outstanding. Consistant 29 to 30 MPG if I drive reasonably. The XRS also has great get up and go.
The XRS has a unique set up as far as its suspension goes. The shock towers are stiffened by connecting them to one another and it makes the handling top notch for a front wheel drive car.
This is not my first Toyota - the reputation lives on and with reasonable maintenance I have not had any problems that have not been handled by Toyota to my complete satisfaction.
The XRS has disc brakes at all 4 corners and the stopping ability is truly amazing even in the rain.
