I believe I had noticed this block was, in terms of voltage, high when charging and low when discharging, so I suspected one of the modules was on it's way out, but it still lasted a half year or so. As of December 2017, I believe another module i(or two) s starting to go as well. This manifests itself as the pack appearing completely full more often than in the past, especially after a decent hill, and also periodically dropping down to 1-2 bars after it's completely "full". This happens because the module or modules with the flaky cells will increase or decrease voltage faster than the other cells (they have relatively little capacity to store energy left), which makes the pack voltage appear higher or lower than it actually is and the battery displays as full or near-empty more often.
