High torque at low revs = great acceleration and power to spare--in a 4 cylinder!
No need to sacrifice mpg to get that power. Have gotten 50 mpg on highway trips of 40 miles. Averaging 39 mpg at fill-ups. Getting 300 miles to half a tank of gas.
Went with Jetta TDI IN SPITE OF poor sound from stereo system.
