During routine maintenance technician discovered a valve cover seeping. They are supposedly contacting my extended aftermarket warranty company trying to get them to pay for the repair. Rear window power sunshade is malfunctioning. They are supposedly contacting my extended aftermarket warranty company to see if they will cover the repairs. Requires a new part, they cannot fix it.
Mar 2011

88000 mi
The power rear window sunshade material was bunching up instead of disappearing into the cargo shelf like it is supposed to. Car underwent inspection by warranty company, work approved, new part ordered and installed. Both valve covers have been leaking for several months and were gradually getting worse. Warranty company inspected and authorized the replacement of both sides gaskets. The sunroof wind deflector will not raise on its own. The tech said a vinyl strip became stiff and prevents its proper operation. His opinion was too expensive to pay for myself and the warranty company refused to authorize this.
May 2011

89000 mi
I had the car in 30 days before my aftermarket warranty expires. Trunk lock was frozen and the tech lubed and fixed it. Waiting for warranty company to approve a couple of other things. No charges yet because the R.O. remains open.
Jun 2011

89000 mi

US $150
Rubber insulation fell off the GPS antenna. The shield is not available by itself so I had to order the painted cap that comes with the antenna shield and the underlying gasket. The rain sensing wiper is not working properly. They installed a new sensor but that did not help. They are now trying to locate the service manual (theirs was discarded) to see if there is any adaptation (programming) required.
Aug 2011

90000 mi

US $500
I bought the part and the tech installed the cap for the GPS because the rubber tip had fallen off. The intermittent wiper problem was discovered to be the result of the aftermarket windshield. Due to the cost, I am living with it for now. The auto-dimming rearview driver's side mirror had begun to darken. I ordered the part online and the tech popped it on while I was in the shop for the wiper issue. No additional charge for labor. The tech finally had the service manual and my intermttant wiper problem is diagnosed as the aftermarket windshield. This was still covered by the warranty. I ordered the parts and the tech installed the cap for the GPS antenna (rubber tip broke off) and the photo-chromatic glass for the driver's side mirror (was darkening).
Oct 2011

91000 mi

Feb 2012

93300 mi
The power rear sunshade malfunctioned again. This is the 2nd time I have had this replaced and I am told they are unrepairable. The last time the aftermarket warranty covered this and this time the 12/12,000 MB warranty did.
Mar 2012

93000 mi
Although I didn't have any known problems I went in for their free safety inspection. I was told that both front ball joints have some play in them. The tech said this is very common.
Sep 2012
