ignition control module went bad causing misfires as well as the ignition coil went bad. I believe the car was only driven a few miles once the misfires started.
98000 mi

US $750
Catalytic converter needed to be replaced. Cat was completely clogged resulting in extreme loss of power. Needed tow off highway as wife could not go faster than 15MPH. Entire inside of cat was falling apart. From outside part looked new
107000 mi

US $200
Engine started running very rough. I thought it might have been a dirty throttle body. I took off the air intake and it looked clean. Attached the intake back and went to start it and was making all sorts of weird noises. Shut it off and after it was off for a few seconds, I heard a odd noise which sounded like something cracking. Turns out the timing chain was breaking slowly causing the rough engine and the noise I heard was it finally snapping. Had it towed in and apparently this car has a zero tolerance timing chain which basically means that when it starts to break it throws the moving engine parts into each other causing catastrophic engine failure. The guy in the shop told me that he could fix it, but I'm better off trying to sell it for parts or scrap it. The labor and parts would cost well over what the car was worth. If you have this car, if you can afford to replace it before issues start to arise, do it. These things are garbage. Never had so many problems with a car in my life.
