Sliding door on driver's side jammed.....at an angle. You could see daylight at the bottom. Door could NOT be budged! Totally locked in place. Much looking on-line did not show me what to do. Several sights showed how to unlock a door by taking the small panel off at the inside handle, but this was not the problem. I finally solved the issue by taking off the entire door panel, at least partially, due to the door being stuck. I then could see the latching mechanism located midway, on top. I could get a long, large screw driver on it and gave it a good push.....unlocking the rear locking mechanism. Once the tension was released, I could open the door and take the entire door panel off. The one bolt on the very bottom could now be reached. Solution? total lubrication/cleaning of the entire mechanism, including guide rails, pivot bearings, latches, etc. Works fine. Learning from this situation, I naturally did the same lube/cleaning of the passenger door too. I'm skeptical of using the electric powered mechanism after reading of do many user problems, so we just manually open the doors. Hope this helps someone!

Door check device had failed. This device holds the door open when on a slight decline. The door was not being held open and was dangerous since it can close on you while getting out. New door catch was very expensive for what it is. Honda Odyssey door catch is much cheaper for example. Removed door panel, removed old door catch, and installed new one. Also replaced window switches since the old one had lost all writing and looked very bad.
