In Dec 2016, I wire brushed and painted several body rust spots, that repair was UNSUCCESSFUL! Now the crimp at the bottom of the liftgate has sloughed off a 3" long piece of rusted sheet metal and the surfaces on the fenders are showing tiny rust spots through the repaint of Dec. 2016. This time, I rebrushed the rusty surfaces again with the wire brush and repainted the areas again.

I haven't had this repair done yet, but the paint on both rear fenders has peeled off and the rust is starting to take hold. I have noticed many other Ford Escapes with the same flaking paint issue on the same rear fenders. Obviously this is not the owner's fault, but a definite flaw in how Ford paints it's vehicles.
