The clutch went out. This might be considered a wear item, however normally I get ~150k out of a clutch easy. It turned out that the throw out bearing went out, and that is what trashed the clutch, so it was not really a maintenance trip. Clutch cost $500 just for parts. I took it to a hot-rod shop rather than a dealer but that may have been a mistake. They ended up draining the transmission oil, which is not supposed to be necessary, and they had to remove the front drive shafts, which I am not sure is necessary either. |
