starter went bad
Starter went bad. The solenoid didn't engage at all. Replaced with the remanufactured Bosch starter from Amazon for $125. It's the exact replacement as Mercedes original starter.
Audio/Nav unit (comand) repeatedly inoperable for 20-30 min after startup - intermittent issue
Delayed starting, long crank(s)
The command control knob "spin to select" failed. Dealer replaced under CPO warranty
Engine is slow starting. Dealer rep thought battery (less than 1 year old) needed replacing. Mechanic checked battery it was ok...they did not pursue the problem...probably waiting until extended warranty runs out.
A continuation of previous report (Dec 2015)where my car was slow to start...dealer noted problem, no action, said battery was fine...in February 2016, car did not start...towed to other dealer....they replaced the starter. NO CHARGE.
I could not adjust the speed of the AC blower...stuck on low. Dealer replaced the blower regulator.
Software update for Command System requested by the dealer
Auxilliary battery malfunction. Replaced the auxilliary battery.
Replaced main battery.
There was an odor in the cabin due to contaminants build up in the evaporator/heater core. I used a foam cleaner made specifically for this problem. No more odor.
Rt. rear window not operating. Dealer supposedly linked issue to door module, and after I told him to hold of on ordering the $500+ part, ordered it anyway. Found unplugged umbilical cord and "fixed" that myself, saving $500+. 2 year old Interstate battery was no good, so I replaced it myself. Unplugged rt. rear door cord caused srs malfunction to trigger. Cord was reconnected and malfunction light was reset via obdII by me.
Replaced oem alternator. This was not a fun job. and now the TPMS system refuses to work. Since replacing the alternator, the TPMS light is on, and the system is not functioning. It also seems to be impossible to find a remedy on line, despite numerous other owners complaining of the identical problem, and trying a multitude of remedies.
TPMS inoperative since alternator change out. Had it reinitialized. Working correctly now.
compressor bearing squeaking constantly due to seized up clutch. Replaced compressor, dryer, condenser, and expansion valve. Labor done by an independent shop.
Heated seat on driver side stopped working. Replaced element myself.
Bluetooth connection kept dropping
Adaptive headlight automatic highbeam malfunction. Driver side headlight turn off (only the headlight part). Normal function after a restart of the car. Mechanic found faulty wiring inside headlight assembly. Headlight works normal when automatic highbeam assist is off. Cost to change one headlight is $3000. Elected to do no repairs.
intermittent backup camera, removed trunk lid lining, cycled camera connection several times, problem has not returned.
Headlamp went out, took about 2.5 hours to replace, had to remove the wheel and inner fender to access the bulb. Also replaced the passenger side, that took about an hour, very difficult to reinstall the bulbs due to poor design. replaced with standard halogen bulbs
Old battery starting to go out, replaced .
Oil and Oil Filter changed. Replacing new battery.
Driver side power adjust lumbar support not working.
replaced AM Radio antenna amplifier
Collapsed AC lines created backup in system; unable to blow cold air into the car. Lines replaced; settings adjusted (presumably to get temp from dropping as low in the future)
Climate control panel didn't light up and no control of A/C or fans (in 98 deg temps!). Dealer identifed problem as A/C Control Board Module, part ordered, and replaced. C-Class car provided at no charge by Dealer. Worked fine thereafter
AM radio reception weak compared to my other cars. The AM antenna signal booster board was changed and it works fine now.
Weak battery that at times would not be adequate to start engine.
Fuel gauge indicated just under 1/2 tank. All of a sudden the dash display flashed low fuel with symbols and red color. Gauge indicated essentially empty. Stopped at next exit on I-65 and added 6 gal. One sensor in tank had error code.
Keyless Go not working for 1 key (doors supposed to lock/unlock by touching handle and engine start/stop by pushbutton)
Dealer determined it was a bad key.
Battery died. Replaced under factory warranty.
Power tilt for steering wheel failed. Took two days to repair after investigating problem and ordering part. Homelink operating improperly. One of buttons was operating sporadically and then failed totally. Dealer unable to locate a problem per se. Switched to another button to see what happens before returning to dealership. Manufacturer agreed.
Problems with Bluetooth connectivity and voice control functions. Installed new wiring harness and updated COMAND software.
Occasional loss of sound from audio. Checked audio and updates and unable to duplicate. However, problem has not recurred.
Intermittent loss of sound from all audio systems. Dealer did several checks per guidance from MBUSA and installed new software in control unit.
Battery died completely at 48 months and 20 days. No proration from MB. Replaced with MB battery with only a 24 month warranty for $320. MB Roadside Assistance replaced the battery.
Right side parking light parking light occasionally comes on for no reason. Xentry check completed-no problem found. Normal maintenance performed.
Front passenger window drops down an inch after being rolled up. Dealer "re-synced" the window. Problem reoccurs frequently and alternates between front driver and passenger side windows.
Smell from AC when initially started. Deodorized, disinfected, fresh air filter replaced.
Passenger seat would not adjust with the rear seats folded down. Re flash of software solved the problem.
musty odor, second time in for this issue. They deodorized the AC Satelite radio not working properly, continually cuts out
right channel on Ipod connector went out. board had to be replaced as well as needing new connector as well
battery gave out, dealer replaced it under the warranty
