We had a vibration when A/C compressor cycled on, trans in Drive, stopped at a traffic light. Engine would shudder, then recover. Dealer inspected torque tube assembly, found no problem. Recommended we "keep an eye on it," no repair needed.
Sep 2015

78000 mi
Interior door panel insert on driver's door is pushing into the door when pressed. Dealer confirmed clips behind door insert broken, offered to try adhesive (but no warranty) or order new door panel. Opted for no repair for now. We have two cubes and noticed the 2010's steering is heavier than our 2014's. Was concerned about wear in lower steering U-joint some owners have reported in forums. Dealer tested steering weight and determined it fell within factory spec.

Both high beam headlights blew at the same time. Was afraid this was an electrical issue. Replacing lights is a huge task on the cube, so had dealer check. They assured, lights just blew. Replaced bulbs, and all is fine again.

Driver side low beam headlight inoperable. This, a little more than a year after both high beams blew and I paid Nissan dealer $100 to fix them. Replaced headlights myself this time for half the cost.

Power window had stopped functioning in driver door. Removed master control switch from driver door and cleaned thoroughly with baby wipes, then gave circuit board a light cleaning with cotton swabs and alcohol. Driver window works again, for now.
Nov 2017

Dealer found an oil leak emanating from the timing cover on the engine. Gasket replacement recommended. The job requires replacement of the valve cover gasket and the front main seal, as well, the technician said. Quoted cost of replacement $1,800. No significant oil loss between oil changes at this time -- decided to live with it for a while.

Noticed a musty smell in the car that wouldn't go away. I had noticed it before, but it always went away in a day or two. It finally got persistent enough to cause me to investigate further. I found the foam pad under the carpet in the cargo area was soaking wet. Further investigation found water standing in the tool bin under the rear seat floor board, rusting the car's OEM jack and tool kit. I removed the foam pad and cargo mat and dried out the water. I asked the dealer to investigate next time I went in for a preventive maintenance appointment, and they suspected a leak in the cargo area (duh) but couldn't find the leak. Repair unsuccessful. I had read that water often gets into the cargo area of cubes via gaps around the cabin pressure relief vents above the rear bumper. Owners online who had this problem said to use silicone sealant around the vents to stop the issue. It's a difficult job to do from the inside of the car (the alternative being removal of the rather large rear bumper cover and taillights to do the job from the outside -- also difficult, especially if you lack a garage space, as I do). This repair attempt at home after the dealer failed to find a leak also proved ultimately unsuccessful.

Driver door window switch ceased to reliably move windows up and down. Disassembled switch, cleaned with alcohol solution and reassembled. Switch worked fine afterward.
Feb 2022

US $110
Intermittent wiper control unreliable, sometimes wiping the windshield at regular speed instead of the intermittent speed setting. If I pushed the stalk upward for a single wipe, sometimes it would wipe five or more times. Dealer service department suggested faulty wiper control stalk as the likely culprit, so I bought one from a parts broker. I had the part for at least a year before I finally made time to replace it. As it turns out, that didn't fix it. Next thing to try is the wiper motor itself. I found a wrecked 57,000-mile cube and bought the wiper motor off of it, but have yet to attempt that repair at this time. Total parts investment of around $110.

Steering wheel cover (leather) peeling away. Dealer replaced, but I had to pay for a front end alignment when they couldn't correctly align the replacement steering wheel. After the steering wheel was replaced under warranty, I had to pay for a front end alignment because the dealer didn't correctly align the steering wheel to orient properly when driving car straight ahead.

plastic creaking rattle in driver's side B-pillar/drivers door area...third time repaired involve d a new door panel...still hear it, but not quite as loud...thinking of giving another dealer a crack at it. Dropped it at my dealers night drop on the way home from work. I was called the next day and told I needed a new engine...11 months and 24,000 miles since new. The short block was replaced. All that was mentioned was a low end noise.

Idle needed to be "re-learned". During A/C operation, at a traffic light, car in drive, held by service brake...when A/C compressor would engage, engine revs would drop to the point of almost stalling before the computer would recover idle

The flange connecting to the muffler rusted out, resulting in a hole and a very loud exhaust. There was no off-brand replacement muffler available through any suppliers, so my mechanic had to buy an OEM one from Nissan, hence the $630.

Auto up function of driver's window switch stopped working. Had to hold switch in the up position to close the window. Auto down function unaffected. Dealer had to "reinitialize" the system. No parts needed to be replaced. Rear view mirror day/night mechanical "switch" located on bottom of mirror wouldn't return the mirror to it's original position after using it a few times. Dealer verified problem and ordered part. Rear view mirror replaced. Day/night switch now works properly. Two segments of the gear indicator located in the center of the gauge cluster are not lighting up. e.g., the letter "R" looks like an "F". Problem comes and goes. Mechanic verified and ordered parts.
Jul 2012

Clunk felt in steering when taking very low speed turns, e.g., while parking. Dealer replaced u-joint under warranty. No more clunking. However, steering wheel is now off-center. Door lock actuator for right rear door squeaks when locking/unlocking, and sometimes doesn't lock/unlock the door. Remote transponder wouldn't work reliably even with frequent battery replacement. Also noticed that the batteries would be wet after a short while. Dealer verified that transponder was NOT leaking, and that signal wasn't reliable. Certain segments of the gear indicator on the LED dash display work intermittently (e.g., P (park) looks like an F). Same problem from 2010, for which parts were ordered. But dealer never notified me that the parts arrived. U joint had been replaced during previous visit, and steering wheel ended up being off-center. Dealer adjusted steering wheel during this visit. Replaced door lock actuator that had been ordered during previous visit. Replaced dash display.

Started car, shifted into Drive, pressed accelerator, car wouldn't move. Tried Reverse, still didn't move. Shut car off, restarted, worked fine. Dealer said that a valve in the transmission was sticking, replaced entire transmission. Since car was new, every time tank was filled, fuel gauge indicated 1-2 bars below full. Thought it was normal until reading similar story online. Dealer said a valve was stuck. Replaced entire fuel tank.

Replaced 96327WD200 BASE-INSIDE MIRROR Located between mirror and roof. Designed to break if mirror is hit but it broke when adjusting for new driver. New part appears to be the same so will probably break again.

Rubber bushing of front engine torque rod (mount) was cracked. Replaced with DEA brand part. Very easy to replace, although you need a large wrench to remove the bolts, and should use a torque wrench when tightening the bolts.
Nov 2017

US $46
Rubber bushing of front engine torque rod (mount) and rear torque rod were cracked. Replaced with DEA brand parts. Front engine torque rod had been replaced 15 months earlier but had already cracked again. Dealer had mentioned that the rear torque rod was cracked, but when I replaced it, it appeared fine, with just a very small surface crack, which gave me the impression that they were just trying to encourage an unnecessary repair. Fortunately it was just a $19 part that I replaced my self.

Recurring problem - "analog" part of fuel gauge suddenly indicates a much lower level of fuel, whenever tank is around 1/4 full and you drive down a steep slope. Yet the remaining miles appears to correctly indicate how much fuel is still in the tank (e.g., over 100 miles.) Sometimes the Check engine light will turn on indicating a problem, so I reset the light and it goes away until another time I'm driving down a steep hill. Sometimes the gauge will just be incorrect without the Check engine light turning on. Fuel gauge also NEVER indicates a full tank. Most of the time, the highest bar lit is the 3rd from the top, and rarely does the second bar light up. NEVER indicates a full tank.

Check engine light came on intermittently, engine running rough. Scan code P0304 - #4 cylinder misfire. Fortunately, #4 coil is accessible with some difficulty, unlike #1-3 (which are located UNDERNEATH the intake manifold, if you can believe that.) I removed the coil and noticed evidence of arcing through the spark plug boot. But I couldn't swap parts with the other cylinders to confirm that, so I just bought a replacement boot and tried it. Luckily, that solved the problem.

Fuel gauge indicates low fuel level after reaching about 1/4 tank, yet still shows over 100 mile range remaining. Sometimes it corrects itself.

Engine idle was very rough. #4 coil was completely broken, with burned/disintegrated parts. Replaced #2, 3, and 4 coils since I had to remove the intake manifold in order to reach #4. #1 had been replaced earlier and was still OK. Replaced PCV valve since it was passing a lot of oil vapor and seemed broken. Replaced intake manifold gasket. Cleaned throttle body. Checked MAF but it was extremely clean. Replaced air filter.

Fuel Level Sending Unit. The unit that sends the fuel level reading from the gas tank to the dash cluster was sending errors causing inaccurate fuel level readings, and the check engine light to come on. This should have been taken care of during my last repair as the code was showing up at that time. Service department wrote it off as a side effect of the last repair.

Accelerator pedal went totally dead. OBD II code P2138 which has to do with the "Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch". Installed new accelerator pedal the following week. No further issues. After approximately 2500 miles, the fuel gauge stopped reading full. Very first line of gauge never lit. Fuel sending unit was replaced the following week. Very same day after repair, gauge still does not go to "Full" just like before. Went to replace fuel sending unit again. All three sending units measured correctly when hooked up to a digital multimeter. Installed in car, a different story. Fuel gauge STILL does not read full. No one knows anything, even Nissan Tech. Had new wheels installed at dealership shortly after purchase of car. Nissan mechanic snapped off one of the sensors and replaced it with a new one. Ever since, once or twice a week, the TPS (Tire Pressure Sensor) light keeps popping on.
